The largest of these is the Seasonal Health Intervention Network (SHINE); a single point referral system offering advice and support to Islington and Hackney residents. The team also offers support with fuel debt, assisting residents with trust fund applications and negotiating payment plans with energy companies. Between December 2010 and March 2017, SHINE received over 16,000 referrals, with over 3,000 anticipated in 2016/17 alone. SHINE is currently being trialled across the entirety of Greater London with energy supplier funding.
The team also operates general energy advice services for the boroughs of Islington, Camden and Hackney. In 2017 the council intends to launch an energy supply offer under our own brand.
