Sustainability Projects Coordinator

Location: Oakham, UK

Number of Positions: 1

Salary (per annum pro rata): £17,500

Start Date: ASAP

Length of Contract: 6 months – with possibility of extension/permanent contract subject to performance

Overview:

We’re an exciting and progressive charity and not-for-profit organisation, passionate about bringing people together and making sustainability mainstream. We undertake research and resource and deliver sustainability projects independently and in partnership with others.

We’re looking for a Sustainability Projects Coordinator to work on sustainability research, build relationships with our client partners and deliver on our organisational objectives. We need:

We need a talented new team member to help us to drive forward our projects, sustainability placements and research activities in the sustainability sector. We are leaders in seeking transformational change through meaningful research and project delivery. We are looking for a Sustainability Projects Coordinator who can produce high quality work, confidently build relationships and have a passion for keeping up to date with the latest developments in the sustainability sector. You will also support Sustainability Placements; recruiting exceptional people into roles working on sustainability projects or in ethical and responsible organisations.

You are:

  • A confident, enthusiastic and engaging communicator

  • Educated to degree level and highly articulate

  • Passionate about sustainability

  • Able to demonstrate strong skills in organisation, prioritisation and meeting deadlines

  • A natural collaborator, able to build and manage relationships

  • Experienced in producing high-quality written reports and research with an attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and aware of Data Protection requirements

In an ideal world, you are also:

  • A postgraduate with a qualification in a related discipline or the ability to demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of sustainability issues including energy, waste, transport, biodiversity etc.

  • Experienced in website and social media management

  • Experience working in a client-facing role

Day in the Life:

9am Huddle – team catch-up over coffee to review progress on project and placement activity, new ideas and opportunities, share sustainability news, updates from conferences and exhibitions.

9.30am Review recent work on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

11.00am Develop insightful material for our Careers in Sustainability workshop.

12pm Finalise plans for tomorrow’s conference in Birmingham. Ensure you have researched key delegates and topics.

1pm Lunch – try one of Oakham’s fine coffee shops or delis!

2pm Make client-partner calls to catch up on upcoming projects and see what support they might need.

2.30pm 1:1 with line manager – monthly session to review progress, share thoughts on personal development opportunities and talk through any issues.

3.30pm Work with Sustainability Placements to review CVs for a graduate role in Environmental Strategy.

4:45pm Arrange logistics for assessment day for Circular Economy graduate scheme

5.15pm Read renewables article in the industry press.

5.30pm Time to go home after an amazing day’s work!

Nitty Gritty Details:

Hours/Week: 37.5

Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

Work outside normal hours: Some travel in the UK may necessitate occasional working outside normal office hours. Change Agents UK operates a flexi-time policy.
