This short-term (3-month, 3-week) Change Agents UK placement will be based with the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC). A basic review of BS8555 processes against ISO14001 has been conducted. You will build upon this work to establish an understanding of JNCC’s current position in relation to ISO14001 and develop an action plan to reach ISO14001 accreditation. Upon delivery of the Action plan the second phase of work, commencing in early April, will start to implement the action plan, develop the processes and procedures to fulfil ISO14001 requirements. The post will require you to work closely with JNCC’s Environmental Management team but also work independently.
This organisation has a solid foundation of existing compliance with Environmental Regulations as well as processes and procedures in place having achieved Phase 3 BS8555 in the recent past and reporting, via Defra, on Sustainable Operations in Government Estates. The JNCC is a public body that advises the UK Government on conservation policy, and co-ordinates nature conservation at a UK level. This is a superb opportunity for an aspiring candidate with a strong understanding and working knowledge of environmental standards to work with an influential organisation to deliver positive change. A longer-term opportunity may be available for the right candidate and full support from the team at Change Agents UK will be available throughout this placement.
